Comet A3 10-2024

Comet A3...Tsuchinshan-Atlas...A snowy dirtball nearly 2 miles in Diameter and a tail of dust and gasses extending for tens of millions of miles...the comet isn't expected to swing by again for 80,000 years, according to NASA...I drove to the Painted Rock Petroglyph Site about 30 miles west of Gila Bend, AZ to get away from city light pollution and have a clear view looking west...I had a chart that gave me the general area of where to look about 45 minutes after sunset...I included photos to give you a feel for the location and a look at how the light changes after the sun sets...I used the petroglyph rock formation as a foreground element to highlight the comet before moving around the hill to show the depth of view looking west...the comet was not easy to see without the aid of the camera...in the last few photos look for the streaks of light, could be satellites or possibly meteors.
