Tempe Town Lake Boat Parade and Fireworks 12-2024

If you want to have an oasis in the desert, you need a lake....what a transformation for downtown Tempe...their yearly contribution to the holidays is a boat parade and fireworks...the first boats in the parade are people powered Chinese Dragon boats...the fireworks show originated from the top of the Old Mill Ave bridge midway through the parade...someone told me the fireworks show had to be coordinated with Sky Harbor Airport because the flight path to the airport is directly above the lake, don't want to scare the passengers...The pirate entry is pretty clever...two entries had the same inflatable "Surfing Santa" and two had the same inflatable "Santa riding the TRex"...notice Santa is facing the wrong direction on the TRex.
