

































You will find this National Park traveling south towards Nogales...The trade route from the south followed the Santa Cruz River north and it provided water for irrigating crops and orchards so that a small self-sustaining community could be established around the mission...the buildings in the photos depict what the original adobe contructed buildings would have resembled...this mission was built on land occupied by the O'odham who lived along the river...I was somewhat challenged in choosing views of the buildings because crews were making repairs...scaffolding, caution tape, vehicles and workers are a distraction...I would image the maintenance is constant...the photos show the main church, exterior and interior, small round chapel by a cemetery and food storage building...photos of the interior of the church show the many layers of construction, renovation, plaster finish and painted designs.
