Not the most colorful year for aspen leaves on the San Franciscan Peaks near Flagstaff, AZ...I don't know if it is because we've had a record long hot summer or maybe less rainfall than usual...some areas the trees were already bare, some areas the leaves were dark brown, dried up and still on the trees...this location had pale yellow mixed with pale green leaves and just a few intense trees...it snowed a few days before I arrived, about 3-4 inches of snow still in the shaded areas...the temperature at noon, around 9000 feet in elevation, was about 60 degrees...the next morning I had a stiff neck from looking up, a bitch getting old! I usually don't do selfies but my shadow on the ground looked interesting and mysterious.
