



















Still experimenting with high contrast B&W photos...The rock building is Dobbins Lookout on South Mountain...built back in the 1930's you are seeing the Phoenix area from an elevation of 2330 feet...at the very top of the mountain are the radio and tv transmitter towers...I remember my father driving us to this spot when I was about 10 years old...Scorpion Gulch is a couple of old buildings next to a riding stable at the base of the mountain near the entrance to the park...it takes a long time for the rock walls to break down...not many of these buildings around anymore, the wood beams and roofs rot and collapse, safety hazards...a couple of the horses were getting frisky...a sign near the fence says, "Be careful the horses may bite".
