After High School I would occasionally hear stories of people camping out in Sycamore Canyon north of Clarkdale, AZ...Sycamore Creek empties into the Verde River which flows through Clarkdale...to access Sycamore Creek I drove about ten miles on a rough dirt road to a trailhead called Parsons Trail...you descend into the southern end of Sycamore Canyon which goes north to Williams...there was not much color in the cottonwood and sycamore trees so I turned everything B&W...in the third photo look for the wood debris left from massive flooding...standing on the pile, I was a good ten feet above the creek behind the trees...the large white flower is a Datura plant which is about 6-7 inches across and according to my research, very poisonous...the photos that have water were taken further south along the Verde River near Clarkdale...the last five photos have a large dark mound in the background which is left over tailings from extensive mining operations in the area.
